Home > CiraHub Support > How to Enable Two-Way Contact Sync Between an Exchange Server Mailbox and Active Campaign

This article will outline how to enable two-way contact sync between an Exchange Server with ActiveCampaign. CiraHub consolidates numerous data sources from multiple platforms ensuring that the information remains consistent across devices and software.

Instructions 

  1. First, Log in to CiraHub. You will be taken to the onboarding wizard. (See figure below.) Next, select the object you want to sync. In this example the contacts object has been selected. Hub and Spoke Setup
  2. Next start the Hub and Spoke setup. Click on “Exchange Server” as your source type for your contact spoke and select User Mailbox.Exchange Server Select User Mailbox
  3. Enter your Exchange Sever Connector Login, Password, URL, and Exchange Version. If you are running an Exchange Server Version dated 2016 or later, always select Exchange 2016 in your Connector Settings.   4. Wait for CiraHub to Validate your Exchange Server Settings in order to access your data. Exchange Server Validation
  5. Select the Mailbox Folder you would like to sync.  Select the Mailbox Folder you would like to sync.  
  6. Type in a Spoke Name and click Next.  exchange server spoke name
  7. Type in a Hub Name and click Create.  exchange server hub name
  8. Select the option to add an Additional Spoke. add spoke
  9. Click on “CRMs” as your source type for your contact spoke. (The Hub contains all synced Contacts from each spoke; a spoke can be a Public Folder, a user mailbox, the GAL or a CRM.) Select Source Type of Contact Spoke
  10. Select “ActiveCampaign” as the contact spoke type.Select Active Campaign
  11. Enter your ActiveCampaign Access URL and Key by following the steps outlined here.Active Campaign Credentials Menu
  12. Type in a Spoke name and click next.AC Spoke Nmae
  13. Type in a Hub name and click next.AC Hub name
  14. Next, right click your spoke, and select “Sync Options”. From there you will be taken to a new window, click the box which says, “Allow Hub to create and sync items in this spoke.” This will enable 2-way synchronization between the Hub and your spoke. Sync Options
  15. Click on “Allow Hub to create and sync items in this spoke”. This will enable two-way synchronization from the endpoint to the hub database and back. Select Categorize Data in Spoke if you would like to filter out which items you would like to sync.AC Allow Hub
  16. Click the Advanced tab to set up Contact filtering settings for ActiveCampaign For example, this would enable a user to synchronize and create hub items based on specific criteria such as company names. Find out more about Contact filtering here. AC Advanced Option
  17. You can also enable Field Mapping to create customized Hub field settings for data in Active Campaign and CiraHub. Click here to learn more about field mapping. field mapping
  18. Click on “Sync now” to enable 2-way synchronization for the current spoke. You can also edit any synchronization options for each of your spokes below. AC Sync Now
