We’ve added four powerful features this month to give you more control over how data flows across your spokes. This will help you keep everything cleaner, more organized, and easier to manage.

1. Role-Based Access for Contact Collections
This allows admins to assign specific permissions (view or edit) to users for individual contact collections in CiraHub. This helps with filtering contacts, such as sharing only support contacts instead of the entire global address list.
Permissions can be combined for different collections, and least privilege is recommended.
2. Syncing Internet Calendars
CiraHub can sync external calendars (like BambooHR birthdays) to user mailboxes using Internet calendar (iCal) links.
The process involves copying the calendar link, attaching it as a spoke in CiraHub, configuring sync direction, event range, and categories, and running the sync to transfer events.
This method works for any calendar program not natively supported by CiraHub.
3. Advanced Filtering for Sync
You now have a new advanced filtering option in CiraHub. Previously, syncing specific mailboxes required creating multiple hubs.
Now, advanced filtering lets users choose which spokes (mailboxes or GALs) receive data from which sources within a single hub, streamlining configuration and saving time. Users can preview the results of their filter selections before syncing.
4. Deduplication Feature
There is now a duplicate contact management tool in CiraHub.
You can view duplicates across all spokes, merge selected or all duplicates, and choose which spoke is the primary source for merged contacts. If duplicates have conflicting data, you can manually select which fields to keep.
5. EWS Deprecation and Impact
Microsoft will disable Exchange Web Services (EWS) for Exchange Online, which will affect access to public folders for third-party apps like CiraHub. We are working on solutions to help you transition before the deadline.
