No, having a CiraSync license is not required to use CiraHub. CiraHub is a stand-alone personal and enterprise solution that provides an easy-to-use one- and two-way sync solutions for contacts and calendars.

What happens if a user using CiraHub is a licensed CiraSync user?

If this user’s mailbox is attached to a hub as a spoke and has contact or calendar data synced by CiraSync, duplicates will appear in the spokes. We recommend that CiraHub users not be part of any type of CiraSync configuration.

  • Mailboxes
What kind of contacts and calendars does CiraHub support?

No, you cannot. You can only sync one object type per hub.

Our senior managers need the ability to edit shared Microsoft 365 calendars from their smartphones. Can CiraHub support this functionality?

Yes. With CiraHub, any edits made to a synced Microsoft 365 calendar will propagate to other users if two-way sync is enabled.

What happens when a spoke is detached from the hub?

CiraHub will delete all data related to the detached spoke. This includes data synced to the spoke and all data created by the detached spoke and synced to the hub and other associated spokes.

In the future, CiraHub will allow users to transfer ownership of any content added by the deleted Spoke to another associated Spoke.

I just created a hub and a spoke, but nothing is happening. What do I do?

When a spoke is first created, two-way sync is disabled. This makes it easier to troubleshoot any problems that users may encounter while using the hub and gives users the chance to filter the data that gets synced. To enable two-way sync, you will have to go into the spoke settings for each spoke and enable this option.

How do CiraSync and CiraHub work together?

CiraHub and CiraSync can be used together in a variety of ways to synchronize your data with other employees and clients within an organization. CiraSync is a distribution tool that allows users to synchronize calendar and contact data to any number of individuals within the organization. CiraHub simply functions as a very effective tool that allows those data sources to be synced together.

For example, with CiraHub, you may combine different calendars into one output calendar that can act as a group work calendar. This allows any user to now look up the information on their computer and examine the results if they choose to. However, this can be confusing for all parties to deal with; what if you need that information while you’re out in the field? An administrator can utilize CiraSync to sync that “Group Calendar” to any number of user mailboxes, thereby combining and distributing all calendars.
